Info
The Bluetones mark 30 years of Expecting To Fly with an anniversary show at Brudenell Social Club, Leeds, on 15 October 2026. They’ll play the debut album in full, then reach into a catalogue that has carried them from the mid-90s to today.
Formed in Hounslow in 1993, the original line-up is intact: Mark Morriss (vocals), Adam Devlin (guitar), Eds Chesters (drums) and Scott Morriss (bass). Rooted in a melodic take on Britpop, their sound leans on clear, chiming guitars and unfussy hooks, somewhere between indie rock and jangle pop.
Released in 1996, Expecting To Fly entered the UK chart at Number 1, briefly displacing Oasis, and its single Slight Return peaked at Number 2. With three Top 10 albums and a run of Top 40 singles behind them, The Bluetones bring a set that reconnects with the songs that made their name: the album as it was, plus favourites from across the years.
