Info
Embrace play Cambridge Corn Exchange in Cambridge on 22 November 2026. Formed in the early 1990s in Bailiff Bridge, West Yorkshire, the band grew around brothers Danny and Richard McNamara with Steve Firth, Mike Heaton and Mickey Dale. First noticed with the singles All You Good Good People, Fireworks and One Big Family, they released The Good Will Out in 1998, then Drawn from Memory (2000) and If You’ve Never Been (2001), where the writing turned more introspective. The 2004 album Out of Nothing featured Gravity, written by Chris Martin, followed by This New Day in 2006. After a long break, Embrace returned with Embrace (2014), Love Is a Basic Need (2018) and How to Be a Person Like Other People (2022).
On stage, Embrace lean into melodic guitars, spacious keys and a vocal delivery that sits between post‑Britpop and alternative rock. Their catalogue spans early anthems to recent material, with arrangements that have opened up over time while keeping a clear, song‑first focus. Special guests join the bill for this date.
