Yes brings The Fragile Tour to Symphony Hall, Birmingham, on 6 May 2027. Formed in London in 1968, the British progressive rock band shaped a sound where psychedelic rock, classical colours and jazz inflections meet long-form structures, stacked harmonies and generous instrumental passages. With The Yes Album and then Fragile in 1971, the arrival of guitarist Steve Howe and keyboardist Rick Wakeman set the blueprint for a symphonic approach later pushed further on Close to the Edge.

Across changing line-ups, Yes shifted in the 1980s toward tighter song forms with 90125, before returning to broader progressive ambitions on records like Talk, The Ladder and Magnification. Today the band keeps that arc alive on stage and in the studio, with Billy Sherwood on bass and Jon Davison on vocals. The Fragile Tour looks back to the era that defined their language while connecting it to recent chapters such as The Quest (2021) and Mirror to the Sky (2023), a chance to hear the band’s past and present speak the same musical dialect.
