Info

On 16 May 2026, The Franklin Electric lands at The Sound House in Dublin. Led by songwriter and vocalist Jon Matte, the Montreal project steers between indie folk and alternative pop, folding piano lines, discreet brass and a light electronic touch into clear, melodic structures. Since the debut This Is How I Let You Down (2014) and Blue Ceilings (2017), the group has refined a sound where intimate writing meets more atmospheric textures. On stage, the lineup is flexible, from tight trio to fuller ensemble, adjusting instrumentation to the room. The set stays organic, driven by acoustic instruments and voice-forward songs, moving from quiet ballads to pieces with a more insistent pulse.

Montreal singer and multi-instrumentalist Marianne Beaulieu opens. First noticed for stripped-back covers, she’s shifted toward original folk-pop while keeping a sober frame around voice, piano and acoustic guitar. After the 2024 EP of covers Here., her release The Committee (2025), created with Connor Seidel, affirms a calm, introspective register built on clean harmonies and close-up songwriting.
