Marianne Beaulieu

Based in Montreal, Marianne Beaulieu develops an independent folk project defined by intimate songwriting, a melancholic pop aesthetic, spare arrangements and a central focus on voice, piano and acoustic guitar. Trained early in piano and having also studied singing before teaching herself guitar, Marianne Beaulieu began sharing covers on social media in 2019, interpreting songs associated with artists such as Noah Kahan, Bon Iver and Gracie Abrams. This initial visibility accompanied the release of My First Covers in 2021, followed by a shift toward her own compositions from 2022. In 2024 Marianne Beaulieu released the EP Here., a new collection of covers that notably includes her version of Patrick Watson’s «Je te laisserai des mots». Her original repertoire became more defined with The Committee in 2025, an EP made with Connor Seidel that extends her folk‑pop line in a restrained, acoustic format. From track to track, Marianne Beaulieu crafts calm, introspective songs built around gentle harmonies and lyrics concerned with hesitation, personal choices and the search for balance.
