“Long Wave Home” by Jesca Hoop overflows with hope for a broken world. The seventh solo album by the California-born, Manchester-based singer-songwriter took shape at the heart of a period of upheaval that was both personal and geopolitical: a tangle of fractures that seemed to mirror one another as they unfolded. It is the first album Hoop produced herself, and it marks both a new beginning and a deepening of her rich, multifaceted discography. Through the album’s lush, sumptuous tracks, Hoop probes deeply into what people owe one another: in intimate relationships, within community, and as witnesses to the wider world.
These are days steeped in terror. Long Wave Home plunges into them and resurfaces with a keen, curious spirit. Jesca Hoop will perform at Le Hasard Ludique on 22 September 2026 at 6 p.m.
