Tami T

Born in Gothenburg in 1987, Tami T, formerly active under the name Tami Tamaki, develops music situated between electronic, dance-pop and avant-pop, with direct writing, synthetic textures and a vocal work often transformed that fully participates in her sonic identity. After early beginnings in punk bands in adolescence, Tami T began producing her own tracks around 18, then pursued her path between Leipzig and Stockholm, in scenes tied to queer cultures, experimental pop and club. Her name circulated more widely when the track I Never Loved This Hard This Fast Before appeared in the film Something Must Break in 2014, and later through broadcasts in the Skam series. In 2016, the project took the name Tami T, prior to the release of the first album High Pitched and Moist in 2019. Tami T also co-produced A Part of Us on Fever Ray's Plunge album, released in 2017, and supported Fever Ray on stage as an opening act. Between decentered club tracks, tense electronic pop and a performative approach to voice, Tami T builds a repertoire where the dancing energy remains linked to a concise formal exploration and a strong anchoring in European alternative scenes.
