On 12 October 2026, Khalid will play AFAS Live in Amsterdam as part of his It’s Always Summer Somewhere Tour. The American singer-songwriter from El Paso broke through in 2017 with American Teen; “Location” and “Young Dumb & Broke” immediately became firm favourites. He followed up with Suncity and Free Spirit, albums that positioned his sound between atmospheric pop and melodic R&B: a warm voice, spare productions and lyrics that feel close. His songs deal with friendship, longing and coming of age; on stage he brings those stories forward in a set that places early classics alongside more recent work, sometimes featuring a collaboration you will no doubt recognise.
Jae Stephens opens the evening. The Los Angeles–based singer delivers contemporary R&B with pop accents and subtle electronics. Singles such as “Liquid,” “24k” and “Got It Like That” follow that line: intimate, first‑person stories over minimal beats, rounded basslines and layered harmonies. Her EP f**k it i’ll do it myself consolidates that approach into a clear profile. Live she creates a soft, direct atmosphere that fits well with Khalid’s universe.
