Dance Gavin Dance bring their blend of post-hardcore, experimental drive and groovy influences to Cologne: on 4 September 2026 they play at the venue Die Kantine Kulturbetrieb. Since 2005 the Sacramento band have explored the intersections between powerful shouts and clean vocals—carried by melodic guitars, interlocking rhythms and song structures that like to change direction. From Downtown Battle Mountain to Jackpot Juicer a style has emerged that combines math‑rock motifs, progressive edges and funky accents. Live, that means dynamic shifts, precise breaks and distinctive choruses that make the contrast between heaviness and melody even more pronounced.
As special guests, As December Falls from Nottingham will join them. The quartet fronted by singer Bethany Hunter pairs catchy pop‑punk with an alternative‑rock edge: fast tempos, direct guitars, vocals and choruses at the centre. Lyrically the songs focus on relationships, doubt, mental health and societal pressure—honest and without pathos. With the albums As December Falls, Happier. and Join The Club the band have sharpened their DIY approach and forged a compact live setup that relies on immediate energy. Two signatures, one evening: post‑hardcore meets pop‑punk in Cologne, concentrated and close to the stage.
