Danser med Drenge

Danser med Drenge brings its Danish pop-rock songbook to Borgerforeningen Svendborg Teater in Svendborg on 1 May 2026. Formed in Copenhagen in the early 1990s, the band has built a catalogue of melodic, Danish-language tracks with a lead female voice out front, supported by bright pop-rock guitars, a straightforward rhythm section and arrangements that nod to soul, reggae and slow ballads. The lyrics look at relationships, daily life, loss and family ties, with clear phrasing shaped for choruses that stick. The early 2000s marked a break with the death of the original singer; the group chose to continue with a new voice and to keep a repertoire anchored in popular song in Danish. Still active on stage, Danser med Drenge plays with a flexible lineup around a core of songwriters, favouring direct energy, verse-chorus structures and a sound that invites collective singalongs. Their sets reach across different periods of their discography, from the 90s albums to later releases and compilations.
