Zuiderpark Live: Danny Vera

On 28 August 2026 Danny Vera will perform at the Zuiderparktheater in The Hague. The songwriter from Middelburg merges his love of rock ’n’ roll, Americana and a touch of country-pop into songs that make room for voice, story and melody. Live he plays with his steady band, which effortlessly supports the retro guitar tone, the softly rumbling tempo and those subtle strings. The result is a set that swings between intimate ballads and tracks with a light rockabilly twang, always carrying that cinematic sense of open roads and neon-lit nights.

Vera grew up on the ballads of the 1950s and 60s, and you can hear how he brings that heritage into the present: compact arrangements, clear hooks, lyrics that begin quietly and gradually unfold. “Roller Coaster” naturally has its place, but the emphasis is just as much on the rest of his repertoire, where melancholy and hope sit side by side.
