Poets of the Fall

On 24 September 2026 Poets of the Fall will perform at Melkweg in Amsterdam. The Finnish outfit from Helsinki has revolved since the early 2000s around singer Marko Saaresto, guitarist Olli Tukiainen and keyboardist/producer Markus “Captain” Kaarlonen. Their sound blends melodic alternative rock with post-grunge, pop and cinematic layers: expansive guitars, atmospheric keys and melodic choruses. In 2003 they first drew attention with “Late Goodbye,” written for Max Payne 2, which led to a lasting relationship with Remedy, later heard in Alan Wake and Control. In the meantime the group built an extensive catalogue of albums, from Signs of Life and Carnival of Rust through Revolution Roulette, Twilight Theater and Temple of Thought to Jealous Gods, Clearview, Ultraviolet and Ghostlight (2022). On stage they connect their game compositions and studio work in a set that places early favourites alongside more recent material. Poets of the Fall demonstrate live how that dual track shapes their identity.
