Info
Tame Impala’s Deadbeat Tour arrives at Centre Bell in Montreal on July 22, 2026. Kevin Parker’s studio-based project expands into a live formation alongside longtime collaborators Dom Simper and Jay Watson, delivering a psych-pop/rock aesthetic that traces the band’s evolution from its Perth origins to the present. The setlist reaches across Innerspeaker, Lonerism, Currents and The Slow Rush, anchored by melodic basslines, phased guitars and analog synthesizers over steady, dance-oriented grooves. In concert, songs frequently segue through extended transitions, moving from hazy textures to immediate hooks while preserving the overall flow.
Djo, the solo project of actor-musician Joe Keery, offers a fusion of indie rock, synth-pop and psychedelia. With a full band onstage, Djo revisits material from Twenty Twenty and DECIDE, emphasizing warm keyboards, treated vocals and bass lines tinged with funk. The songwriting returns repeatedly to themes of identity, technology and memory, while the arrangements favor clear structures and gradual, cumulative builds. Together, the two acts chart parallel courses through contemporary psych-pop, each employing a distinct sonic palette yet sharing a pronounced fondness for texture and groove.
