Info
Bertrand Belin is, above all, a voice—deep and slow, gentle and haunting—that eschews grand gestures and advances with measured steps. It carries a precise writing, words weighed like rare materials, worked to take on relief and make the silences vibrate. A French singer-songwriter, Belin follows a singular path between chanson and understated rock, where attention to the text guides everything.
At Artefact La Laiterie in Strasbourg on April 26, 2026, he unveiled a more open chapter of his sonic journey. His new album pushes further the exploration of timbres and textures: the piano comes to the foreground on several tracks, electronics slip in as a subtle underlayer, and guitar and drums—already central on his recent records—take on a different hue, clearer, sometimes drier. The themes remain rooted in the intimate and in the expanded everyday: our place in the world, the play of glances, love that arrives and leaves, impulses, fears, and the questions that return.
In concert, Belin pares things down, creates space, and lets the songs breathe. It is a way of establishing an inner rhythm in which the voice draws the line and each arrangement reveals the text without overpowering it.
