Los Bitchos

Formed in London in 2017, Los Bitchos brings together guitarist Serra Petale, born in Western Australia, Uruguayan Agustina Ruiz, Swedish musician Josefine Jonsson and London-based Nic Crawshaw in an instrumental quartet whose repertoire draws primarily on 1970s and 1980s cumbia, with touches of Anatolian rock, surf and psychedelic pop. Los Bitchos drew attention with the single "Pista (Fresh Start)", produced by Alex Kapranos and released in 2019, followed by "The Link Is About to Die" in 2020. Their debut album, Let the Festivities Begin!, was released in 2022 on City Slang, also overseen by Kapranos, establishing an instrumental approach based on highly mobile melodies, danceable rhythms and a supple collective performance. In 2021 Los Bitchos appeared on Altin Gün’s "Erkilet Güzeli". Their second album, Talkie Talkie, was released in 2024. On stage Los Bitchos have moved between clubs and festivals in Europe and North America, touring with Mac DeMarco, Belle and Sebastian and King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard, and appearing at events such as Glastonbury, Coachella, SXSW and Rock en Seine.
