Tophouse
Born in Missoula, Montana, TopHouse came together in 2015 around Jesse Davis and William Cook, later joined by Joseph Larson in 2017 and then by Andy LaFave in 2022, forming a quartet whose balance rests on strings, vocal harmonies and a writing rooted in American folk. Based in Nashville from 2019, TopHouse develops a repertoire between indie folk, bluegrass, Americana and acoustic pop, with a strong emphasis on violin, banjo, guitar and piano. The group first drew attention on Montana’s local scene before gradually expanding its audience through touring and broader online circulation of its songs. This trajectory is accompanied by regular appearances on club and festival stages, in a format that prioritizes collective energy as much as melodic arrangements. TopHouse’s discography includes Middle of Somewhere, Hopes & Fears, Snapshot, The Irish EP and Campfire Stories, followed by the EPs Practice and Theory, which continue this aesthetic between chamber folk, direct choruses and discreet Celtic accents. Thus TopHouse places its journey in a current acoustic vein, at the crossroads of North American traditions and a more contemporary pop writing.
