Saint Levant

Born in Jerusalem in 2000 under the name Marwan Abdelhamid, Saint Levant grew up between Gaza, Amman and later California, a path that shapes music that is both diasporic and deeply rooted in the Levant. His range blends rap, pop, contemporary R&B and Arab influences, with multilingual writing in English, French and Arabic. Saint Levant emerged in the early 2020s with tracks like Jerusalem Freestyle and Nirvana in Gaza, before gaining wider visibility in 2022 with Very Few Friends, a piece that establishes his relaxed pacing, sung melodies and an aesthetic where intimacy, cultural exchanges and the Palestinian question coexist without blending. In 2023, he released the EP From Gaza, with Love, followed by the 2024 album Deira, nourished by references to Gaza and his family history, with a sound that lets hip-hop, alternative R&B and Arab pop dialogue. On stage, Saint Levant has performed in the Middle East, Europe and North America, with appearances at international festivals such as Coachella in 2024. His work subsequently evolves toward a more central place for Arabic vocal forms and regional pop textures, as illustrated by the EP Love Letters / رسائل حب released in 2025.
