Between Amman and the Palestinian diaspora, Zeyne—born Zein Sajdi in 1997—crafts a world where Arabic music, R&B, soul, jazz, and hip‑hop intersect. Raised in a Palestinian‑Jordanian family passionate about music and dance, and steeped early in dabke, piano, and classical singing, she honed her artistry before studying media and sociology at the University of Sussex in Brighton. In 2020, as she was preparing to start work in London, the pandemic left her in Amman; she began posting covers on Instagram, joined the Jordanian Female Artist Collective, and performed at the Amman Jazz Festival—steps that led to a collaboration with producer Nasir Al Bashir and a deal with Keife Records. From 2021 onward, Zeyne released a run of singles—“Minni Ana,” “Nostalgia,” “Atoul”—mixing Arabic and English over arrangements that blend R&B groove, Levantine melodies, and jazz flourishes, before sharing “Balak” in 2022 with Palestinian rapper Saint Levant. Alongside her own work, she writes for other artists on the Arab pop scene, including Issam Alnajjar, Elyanna, and Massari. In 2023, she appeared on the collective track “Rajieen,” and continued in 2024 with songs such as “Ma Bansak,” also featured on a COLORS show, “Bali,” inspired by the war in Gaza, and the double single “7arrir 3aqlak / Asli Ana,” where she reworks the dabke rhythm within an R&B framework. Rooted in a bilingual alternative‑pop register, Zeyne cemented that identity in 2025 with her debut album Awda, accompanied by the singles “Hilwa” and “Arrib Minni” and collaborations with Saint Levant and Bayou, consolidating a songwriting voice centered on intimacy, memory, and attachment to Palestine.
