Zeina
Based in Montreal and born in Brooklyn in 1996, Zeina Aridi, who performs under the name Zeina, develops pop nourished by contemporary R&B and Arab influences, sung in English, French and Arabic. Of Lebanese and Egyptian descent, Zeina circulates these references in a direct writing, between pop melodies, flexible rhythms and inflections from urban music. Her discography starts with several singles published from 2016, then takes a more constructed form with the EP Odd One Out in 2021. As releases progress, from Suburbs to Teach, Whatever or Nasty, Zeina refines a format where intimate confession, pop sensuality and R&B textures cross, without straying from an accessible approach. In 2024, she releases her first album, Eastend Confessions, which gathers this evolution and more clearly positions her universe between alternative pop and contemporary soul. In the same year, Hooked, an inverted response to the title Shook by Shawn Desman, brings her wider visibility in Canada. Zeina then continues this journey with new singles and some collaborations, including Allo Min with Oualid, while remaining linked to a Montreal pop and R&B scene open to cultural circulations and multilingual practices.
