quannnic
Active since the early 2020s in the United States, quannnic develops a soundworld that sits between shoegaze, dream pop, alternative rock and lo‑fi textures, with tracks where saturated guitars, often veiled vocals and slow to mid‑tempo rhythms create a dense, melancholic atmosphere. The project took shape online within an independent scene nourished by self‑production and the rapid circulation of songs on platforms, before reaching a wider audience with tracks like “life imitates life,” which accompanied quannnic’s rise in visibility. The debut album Kenopsia, released in 2022, defined the contours of this aesthetic by blending introspective songwriting, noisy layers and a melodic sensibility drawn as much from indie rock as from slowcore and the more diffuse edges of grunge. Since then, quannnic has positioned itself in a current where the boundaries between bedroom pop, noise pop and atmospheric rock remain porous, with music conceived for both intimate listening and stages close to alternative and DIY circuits.
