Em Beihold

Under the stage name Em Beihold, Emily Beihold writes melodic, piano-driven pop from Los Angeles, California, blending bedroom pop with a singer-songwriter tradition. After releasing several tracks online in the mid-2010s, she formalized her first project with the self-produced EP Infrared in 2017, already showcasing a taste for spare arrangements and straightforward songwriting. Her audience widened around 2020 through a series of singles promoted on social media, including “Groundhog Day” and notably “Numb Little Bug” in 2021, which established her in an alternative pop register addressing mental health, doubt, and relationships with a direct yet ironic tone. Signed to Moon Projects under license to Republic Records, Em Beihold released the EP Egg in the Backseat in 2022, gathering several songs previously discovered online and consolidating an aesthetic built on instantly memorable choruses, classic pop structures, and introspective lyrics. Combining intimate piano-and-voice performances, subtle electronic touches, and short formats suited to video platforms, she continues to release singles and occasional collaborations that maintain a close connection with a predominantly online audience.
