Greet Death

Born in Flint, Michigan, Greet Death occupies a space where shoegaze, indie rock and slowcore intersect, with songs built around often slow tempos, thick guitars and a dark melodic songwriting that never tips into metal. Active since 2011, Greet Death began around Logan Gaval and Harper Boyhtari before expanding into a full band with Jimmy Versluis, Seth Beck and Eric Beck. After the EP In Heaven//Your Lull in 2016 on Flesh and Bone, the band released Dixieland in 2017 and New Hell in 2019 on Deathwish Inc., two records that established a sound at once hazy, abrasive and firmly rooted in the alternative legacy of the 1990s. In 2022 the band issued the EP New Low and continued that trajectory with Die In Love in 2025. Throughout their trajectory Greet Death remain tied to the American Midwest indie-rock scene, making music that plays on the contrast between saturation/distortion, restraint and often world-weary vocal lines.
