Bleary Eyed

Born in 2015 around Nathaniel Salfi, Bleary Eyed sits between Philadelphia and Washington, D.C., in the wake of the East Coast DIY scenes. The project evolved over the years into a band whose sound is rooted in shoegaze, with elements of dream pop and indie rock, and a more textured approach to sonic collage. Bleary Eyed works with hazy guitars, vocals often fused into the mix, and arrangements where samples and textures reminiscent of lo-fi and digital pop also appear, without leaving the realm of indie rock. After several notable underground releases, the band released the album 2 True Shimmer Away in 2023, followed by Easy in 2025, both on Born Losers Records. This trajectory accompanies a regular presence on American indie stages, before broader touring in North America and Europe. Bleary Eyed has also shared the bill with groups from the same alternative sphere, in a path showing the shift from a DIY project to a lineup now well identified in the new generation of American shoegaze.
