Imperial Triumphant

Born in New York in the mid-2000s, Imperial Triumphant plays an avant-garde black/death metal strongly shaped by Manhattan’s urban imagery. Led by guitarist and vocalist Zachary Ilya Ezrin, the trio with Steve Blanco and Kenny Grohowski evolved from a dissonant black metal sound toward more complex compositions that weave atonal harmonies, jazz influences, big-band-like passages and fragmented tempos. Their early albums, including "Abominamentvm" (2012) and "Abyssal Gods" (2015), established a dense, chaotic aesthetic, while "Vile Luxury" (2018) intensified the conceptual focus on the city, its architectures and elites by adding more brass arrangements. With "Alphaville" (2020) and "Spirit of Ecstasy" (2022), released on Century Media Records, Imperial Triumphant has continued to fuse extreme metal, contemporary music and jazz, collaborating with musicians from experimental scenes and performing in clubs and specialized festivals across North America and Europe.
