C.O.F.F.I.N
Formed in Sydney in 2005 by high school friends, C.O.F.F.I.N, acronym for Children of Finland Fighting in Norway, develops a taut and direct Australian punk rock, fueled by garage rock, hard rock and a live energy that is strongly shaped by the stage. The band also stands out for the central role of Ben Portnoy, who handles vocals while playing drums, alongside Abijah Rado on guitar, with a lineup that has evolved over the years. After their debut album, Under the Influence, released in 2010, C.O.F.F.I.N sharpens its approach on Spring Break at the Asylum in 2014, followed by the EP On the Gronk in 2016 and the album Piss~Up in 2018, where their writing blends fast rhythms, rugged riffs and shouted choruses. In 2020, Children of Finland Fighting in Norway, published by Legless Records, marks a new step, before Australia Stops in 2023, a record that accompanies increased visibility in Europe and North America. Familiar with independent punk and rock circuits, C.O.F.F.I.N has also shared the bill with King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard, in a trajectory that remains tied to a raw, compact and no-nonsense aesthetic.
