The Meffs

Born in Colchester, Essex, The Meffs brings together Lily Hopkins (vocals and guitar) and Lewis Copsey (drums and backing vocals) in a pared-down duo format that goes straight to the point. Active since 2019, the band sits within a direct, tense, fast British punk, with short tracks, raw energy and lyrics rooted in social and political issues. The Meffs develop a strong DIY aesthetic, both in their approach and in their place on the British independent punk scene. Their music blends punk urgency, abrasive choruses and a tightened melodic sense, without straying from a frontal sound carried by guitar and drums. Through releases and live shows, The Meffs have established themselves on the UK live circuit, performing both as headliners and on tours shared with other names in rock and punk. Frank Turner publicly supported the duo, a backing that accompanied their growing visibility on the current scene. The Meffs have also toured with Joan Jett & the Blackhearts and the Levellers, confirming a trajectory built first on the live scene and on a very sustained live presence.
