Wine Lips

Formed in Toronto in 2015 around Cam Hilborn (vocals, guitar) and Aurora Evans (drums), Wine Lips initially grew as a side project before becoming a full‑time band on the Canadian garage‑punk scene. Their sound blends jittery punk, garage rock, psychedelic rock and abrasive surf, featuring fast, riff‑driven, heavily distorted songs with short choruses. After a debut album that accompanied their early tours in North America and later Asia, the band refined their approach with Stressor in 2019—a more upfront record where punk energy meets psychedelic motifs and tighter songwriting. During the 2020 live‑music hiatus Wine Lips prepared Mushroom Death Sex Bummer Party, released in 2021 and recorded by Simon Larochette at The Sugar Shack in Ontario; it pushes further the balance between controlled chaos, dry melodies and rhythmic tension. Over the years Wine Lips has played numerous club and festival dates, sustaining an intense live‑driven dynamic central to their evolution, with a repertoire built for performance and a sonic identity true to their punk and garage roots.
