Jana Horn

Jana Horn is an American singer-songwriter who moves between spare folk, restrained indie rock and ballads bordering on slowcore. After starting out in the group Reservations and earning early local recognition, she released Optimism (2022, No Quarter), an album defined by short songs, a sometimes spoken‑sung delivery, and arrangements pared down to essentials—centered on guitar with a few rhythmic accents. With The Window Is The Dream (2023) she extends this minimalist aesthetic, working with silences, repetition and an introspective narrative voice that draws as much from folk song as from narrative poetry. A third, eponymous album, scheduled for January 2026 on No Quarter and recorded at Sonic Ranch in the West Texas desert, continues this trajectory; her live lineup frequently features a trio built around Jade Guterman’s bass and Adam Jones’s drums, and the new record adds more flute, clarinet and piano, heightening the contrast between Jana Horn’s understated voice and a rougher sonic landscape.
