Asher White

Born in Evanston, Illinois in 2000, Asher White develops a path that blends music, visual arts and writing, with a recording activity that started very early on Bandcamp in adolescence. A multi-instrumentalist and producer, Asher White evolves in a territory where indie rock, indie pop, noise pop, chamber pop, folk and experimental approaches intersect, with songs that alternate melodic formats, abrasive textures and changing arrangements. Trained in sculpture at the Rhode Island School of Design, she also situates her music within a broader artistic practice, which illuminates the composite dimension of her albums. Her discography has grown at a steady pace with The Swamp in 2017, A Home in the Country and Ancient Collect in 2019, In the Quarry in 2020, Hummingbird, Wing Swell and American Motel History in 2021, then Architecture Exhuberant! in 2022, New Excellent Woman and Elmwood Cassette in 2023, as well as Home Constellation Study in 2024. In 2025, Asher White joined Joyful Noise Recordings and released 8 Tips for Full Catastrophe Living, continuing a trajectory marked by movements between the indie scene, deformed chamber pop, oblique rock and very personal writing.
