Deez Nuts

Formed in Melbourne in 2007 around JJ Peters, after the end of I Killed the Prom Queen, Deez Nuts developed a hardcore punk sound informed by rapcore and hip‑hop aesthetics, featuring chanted vocals, straightforward choruses and a sense of groove that sets them apart from more traditional hardcore. Early on JJ Peters recorded the first demo and the EP Rep Your Hood (2007) on his own, before turning Deez Nuts into a touring band active in Australia, Europe and the United States. The debut album Stay True was released in 2008, followed by This One’s for You (2010), Bout It! (2013), Word Is Bond (2015), Binge & Purgatory (2017) and You Got Me Fucked Up (2019). Over the years Deez Nuts has operated within the same circuits as modern hardcore, metalcore and punk, touring with bands such as Bring Me the Horizon, Your Demise and Comeback Kid. Their trajectory has included several lineup changes, but the project remains centred on JJ Peters, now accompanied by Matt Rogers and Alex Salinger.
