Polar

Anchored in Guildford, England, the band Polar emerged from the British metalcore and hardcore scene in the late 2000s, combining heavy riffs, punk energy and more melodic passages. Formed around a core of musicians from the local scene, Polar first built itself through a series of releases and club tours across the UK, before issuing Iron Lungs in 2012 — their debut album that established an identity of screamed vocals, fast rhythms and more open choruses. They followed with Shadowed By Vultures in 2014 and No Cure No Saviour in 2016, two records that extended that hardcore foundation while allowing more room for worked-out structures and a stronger emotional dimension. With Nova in 2019, Polar accentuated the melodic and atmospheric side of their writing while retaining a modern metal grounding suited to the stage. The 2023 album Everywhere, Everything confirms this shift toward a metalcore that alternates abrasive tension, airier passages and vocals that move between screams, spoken delivery and sung lines, supported by steady touring activity in the UK and across Europe.
