Jawdropped

Born in Los Angeles in 2023, Jawdropped formed in the wake of the local DIY scene, where its members already crossed paths across different projects before playing together. The band operates in an indie rock register nourished by power pop, nervy guitars and direct melodies, with lyrics that capture very contemporary details without leaving a fairly classic pop frame. This approach appears on the first EP Just Fantasy, released in 2024, which clearly anchors Jawdropped in its Californian environment, between everyday observations, dry humor and measured disillusionment. The songs play on a contrast between catchy choruses, light tension and lyrics describing the habits, fragilities and social codes of urban youth. Jawdropped thus sits within an aesthetic of club- and small-venue bands, tied to Los Angeles' independent circuits, with a lively, compact and unpretentious sound, where irony never erases a form of collective momentum.
