Roxane Bruneau
At the crossroads of pop, folk, and Québécois chanson, Roxane Bruneau has built a path as a singer-songwriter rooted in the contemporary francophone scene. Hailing from Delson in Quebec’s Montérégie region, she first drew notice in the mid-2010s by posting short clips on social media that blended humor, candid reflections, and early songs, before turning to studio recording. Her debut album, Dysphorie, released in 2017, established a world where acoustic guitars, pop melodies, and everyday language meet around themes such as relationships, personal doubts, and mental health. In 2019, Acrophobie carried this approach forward with direct writing focused on a couple’s vulnerabilities, introspection, and a highly conversational relationship to language—hallmarks of Bruneau’s work. With Subconscient, released in 2023, the Québécois artist further refined the balance between intimate songs and catchier choruses, while consolidating her presence on stages across Quebec and the francophone world, where she performs in an unapologetically pop format, often as close to her audience as possible.
