Hannah Jadagu

Between Texas and New York, Hannah Jadagu crafts an indie-pop project where direct songwriting, dream-pop textures, and the legacy of bedroom pop intertwine. Hailing from Mesquite in the Dallas metro area, she began sharing online tracks recorded in a DIY fashion before joining Sub Pop, which released the EP “What Is Going On?” in 2021. After relocating to New York to pursue her studies, she honed a writing voice centered on the transition from adolescence to adulthood, family ties, and the experience of a young Black American woman, set to productions that blend reverb-soaked guitars, upfront vocals, understated electronic touches, and R&B influences. Her debut album, “Aperture” (2023), broadened that palette with denser arrangements while preserving an intimate, melodic core. On stage, Hannah Jadagu mostly performs in independent clubs and at festivals oriented toward alternative rock and emerging music, solo or with a band, extending in concert the studio aesthetic that is both gritty and melodic.
