MitiS

Behind the name MitiS is Joseph Torre, an American producer and composer from the suburbs of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he was initially trained in classical piano. Active since the early 2010s, MitiS has developed a melody-focused electronic language that sits at the intersection of melodic bass, melodic dubstep, future bass and an ambient sensibility carried by the piano. His approach relies on clear harmonies, gradual buildups and rhythmic work that remains connected to the North American bass music scene, while leaving ample space for emotional textures and guest vocalists. Over his career MitiS has evolved this language across club productions, more introspective tracks and live sets that incorporate his background as a pianist. He has released several notable records, including the album Til The End in 2018 and Lost in 2021, which extend this expansive, melodic aesthetic. Present on festival stages and in the international electronic circuit, MitiS belongs to a generation of American producers for whom live energy coexists with a highly structured approach to electronic songwriting.
