Sasha

Born in Bangor, Wales, in 1969, Sasha — the stage name of Alexander Coe — emerged on the British club scene around the turn of the 1990s after a period in Manchester and a residency at Shelley's Laserdome in Stoke-on-Trent. His work as a DJ and producer blends house, acid house, progressive trance, breaks and melodic techno within a format built on long transitions, immersive textures and a seamless, continuous mix narrative. Sasha then helped shape the development of progressive house, notably in tandem with John Digweed at the Renaissance club and through the Northern Exposure mix series in the 1990s. On the production side, his releases include the albums Airdrawndagger (2002), Involver (2004), Invol2ver (2008) and Scene Delete (2016), where his writing moved further toward ambient and more contemplative electronic sounds. Sasha remains active with extended DJ sets, remixes, international tours and studio projects, performing in settings from clubs to electronic music festivals.
