Jody Wisternoff

Producer and DJ based in Bristol, Jody Wisternoff first made his mark on the British scene in the late 1980s by competing in DJ contests, before moving into hardcore and breakbeat with the project Sub Love alongside his brother Sam Wisternoff in the early 1990s. He then became a central figure in the duo Way Out West, formed with Nick Warren in Bristol, which explored a vein of progressive house and trance blended with breakbeat and ambient influences, and performed widely at clubs and international festivals. In parallel, from the 2000s onward he developed a solo trajectory oriented toward deep house and melodic progressive house, with a strong focus on atmospheric textures and detailed synth lines. His debut solo album, Trails We Blaze, was released in 2012, followed by Nightwhisper in 2020; both center on accessible electronic songwriting built around warm melodies and supple rhythms. Closely associated with the Anjunadeep label, Jody Wisternoff has produced numerous remixes, collaborations with other house and progressive producers, and mixed compilations, consolidating a sonic identity that links British rave culture, studio attention to detail and formats tailored for the contemporary dancefloor.
