Somebody's Child

Led by composer and singer Cian Godfrey, Somebody’s Child is part of Dublin’s indie rock scene in Ireland, balancing nervous alternative rock with melodic songwriting. First noticed in the late 2010s through a series of self‑produced singles, Somebody’s Child has honed a sound characterized by direct guitars, taut rhythms and lyrics focused on urban life, being in your twenties and contemporary social tensions. The 2020 EP “20‑Something” established this blend of melodic rock and British indie influences, while “Hope, Amongst Other Things” (2022) highlighted a more introspective, atmospheric side. Signing with Frenchkiss Records led to the release of the self‑titled album “Somebody’s Child” in 2023, featuring tracks with catchy choruses, dense guitar textures and a slightly raspy lead vocal.
