Marc Rebillet

Based between Dallas and New York, Marc Rebillet developed from the second half of the 2010s a hybrid practice combining stage performance, electronic production and online creation. The American artist shapes improvised pieces that blend funk, soul, R&B, house and pop, constructed live from vocal motifs, keyboards and lyrics often tinged with humour. Initially shared on YouTube, Facebook and Twitch, Marc Rebillet’s performances took place in intimate settings, filmed at his home, and gradually expanded to clubs and concert halls across North America and Europe. On stage he performs solo, alternating sung sections, spoken passages and long instrumental build-ups, frequently incorporating audience suggestions into the structure of the piece. His recordings reflect this spontaneous aesthetic, ranging from tracks assembled from filmed sessions to more tightly produced songs, while keeping the vocal dimension at the core of Marc Rebillet’s sonic identity.
