Young Franco
Active on the Australian electronic scene since the mid‑2010s, Young Franco pursues a project positioned between house, nu‑disco and electronic pop, shaped by funk and hip‑hop influences. Born Joseph Da Rin de Barbera in Brisbane, he first gained attention via the Triple J Unearthed platform before establishing himself as a regular DJ and producer at the country’s clubs and festivals, and later expanding his bookings across Europe and North America. Young Franco’s productions emphasize straightforward dance structures, melodic basslines and vocal work focused on features from rap and R&B artists — for example Denzel Curry or Pell on “Fallin’ Apart”, and Tkay Maidza on “Real Nice (H.C.T.F.)”. Through EPs, singles and remixes, he has built a catalog geared toward short formats, designed for the dancefloor but close to radio‑friendly pop, alternating instrumental tracks and songs driven by guest vocalists. Later based between Sydney and Los Angeles, Young Franco continues to balance studio production, international collaborations and DJ performances.
