JKS

Based in Berlin, JKS develops a techno focused on rhythm, tension and movement, nourished by more than ten years of drumming. His productions move on a dense percussive foundation, featuring hypnotic patterns, raw textures and a physical energy that links techno with influences from UK bass, 140 and broken techno, conceived for the club without resorting to spectacle. Active in the underground scene since the early 2010s, JKS first appeared as part of Molekül, of which he is a founding member, before launching Smile Sessions in 2020, a label he runs from Berlin. This project continues an attentive approach to new signatures while remaining rooted in a direct, rhythmic aesthetic. In his DJ sets as in his releases, JKS works with evolving structures, taut grooves and a very concrete concern for sonic impact, where his drumming heritage remains central.
