Courtney Marie Andrews

Born in Phoenix, Arizona, in 1990, Courtney Marie Andrews belongs to an American songwriting tradition that blends folk, country and Americana. After early beginnings on Phoenix’s independent scene, she moved to Seattle in her teens, participated in DIY circuits and began touring as a solo artist while playing in various local bands, before notably supporting Jimmy Eat World on stage in the early 2010s. Her discography begins with Urban Myths (2008), For One I Knew (2009) and No One’s Slate Is Clean (2010), still strongly marked by an independent folk aesthetic, and evolves with On My Page (2013), which establishes a writing centered on voice and intimate storytelling. With Honest Life (2016) and May Your Kindness Remain (2018), Andrews moves toward a fuller Americana sound with broader arrangements driven by electric guitars, keyboards and pedal steel. Old Flowers (2020) and Loose Future (2022) continue this approach, tightening the format around slow ballads, an expressive vocal register and songs that address relationships, doubt and displacement within a pared-down sonic setting.
