The Slow Show

Formed in Manchester in 2010 around Rob Goodwin and keyboardist Frederik’t Kindt, The Slow Show established itself as a four‑piece indie rock band with a restrained songwriting approach, combining slow ballads, understated orchestral tension and melancholic atmospheres. Goodwin’s deep voice, often placed at the centre of sparse arrangements where guitar, piano and drums intersect, gives The Slow Show an immediately recognisable colour at the intersection of indie rock, chamber pop and nocturnal folk. The band first drew attention on the British scene, notably by supporting Elbow, before broadening its reach across Europe. Their studio discography opens with White Water (2015), followed by Dream Darling (2016), Lust and Learn (2019), Still Life (2022) and Subtle Love (2023). Across these albums The Slow Show has evolved its format without abandoning a minimalist, contemplative aesthetic driven by measured tempos and songwriting focused on contained emotion. Between Manchester and Germany, where Rob Goodwin has settled, The Slow Show continues a path rooted in slow, elegant and stripped‑back alternative pop.
