Suvi Teräsniska
Born in Kolari, Finland, Suvi Teräsniska has, since the late 2000s, been part of a melodic Finnish pop that blends schlager, suomipop and ballads in a clear, direct register. She began her recording career in 2008 with the album Särkyneiden sydänten tie, propelled by the track Hento kuiskaus, and quickly followed with Tulkoon joulu (2009) and Rakkaus päällemme sataa (2010), establishing a repertoire that alternates sentimental songs, acoustic variations and Christmas albums. Over the years she continued with Pahalta piilossa (2011), Hän Tanssi Kanssa Enkeleiden and Pohjantuuli (2013), Joulun henki (2014), Sinä olet kaunis (2016), Ihmisen poika (2019), Iltalauluja (2020), Tämä maailma tarvitsee joulun (2021) and Seuraavassa elämässä (2024). Signed to Warner Music Finland, Suvi Teräsniska holds a regular place on the Finnish pop scene with a song-centered style, expansive melodies and a restrained delivery, situated between contemporary Nordic variety and the tradition of Finnish folk singing.
