Skraeckoedlan

Formed in 2009 in Norrköping, Sweden, Skraeckoedlan plays heavy rock at the crossroads of stoner rock, stoner metal and sludge metal, characterized by thick riffs, heavy tempos and a marked taste for dark atmospheres. The band first made a name for itself with two early releases in 2010, the EPs Flykten från Tellus and Världarnas fall, before recording their debut album Äppelträdet, released in 2011 on Transubstans Records and produced by Oskar Cedermalm of Truckfighters. The band followed with the EP Mesozoikum in 2012 and the album Sagor in 2015, which broadened their approach while retaining the sludge and stoner foundation of their early work. Skraeckoedlan returned in 2019 with Eorþe and again in 2024 with The Vermillion Sky, confirming a trajectory rooted in the Swedish heavy scene while showing a more narrative and expansive songwriting. Originally built around Robert Lamu, Henrik Grüttner and Martin Larsson, Skraeckoedlan now operates as a quartet with bassist Erik Berggren.
