Baptiste W. Hamon
Born in Paris in 1989, singer‑songwriter Baptiste W. Hamon develops French‑language songwriting marked by North American folk and country imagery. Initially shaped by the independent scenes in Paris and the southern United States, he moved in the early 2010s toward intimate songs in which storytelling occupies a central place. His lyrics, often tinged with everyday melancholy, rely on a carefully crafted language influenced by poetry and literature, while the arrangements blend acoustic guitars, slow rhythms and colours drawn from Americana. Noticed through a series of early recordings and club shows, he gradually built his career between tours in France, dates across Europe and regular trips to the United States. The albums he released in the second half of the 2010s assert an increasingly assured aesthetic—between classic French chanson and folk culture—with particular attention to overall sonic coherence. The stage remains at the heart of his activity, between intimate formats and festivals, often in a tight formation of musicians coming from both chanson and roots traditions.
