RaphaëLe Lannadère - L
Born in Paris in 1981, Raphaële Lannadère performs under the name L and has developed a French chanson writing marked by a wide vocal delivery and close attention to the lyrics. Trained early in a range of vocal traditions — from Corsican, Romani and Bulgarian polyphonies to gospel and fado — she has fashioned a style in which intimacy, melodic tension and very precise diction occupy a central place. After early concerts in Paris, notably alongside Babx, L drew notice around the turn of the 2010s with appearances at Printemps de Bourges and Chantier des Francos, before the release of Initiale in 2011. Raphaële Lannadère’s career has since evolved: from orchestrated, literary chanson to more electronic forms on L. (2015), and then to a more stripped-back format on Chansons (2018), arranged by Clément Ducol. Her work as a songwriter has also led her to write for other performers, including Camélia Jordana, Patrick Bruel and Julien Clerc. With Paysages (2021) and Cheminement (2023), she continues a path in which L alternates between chamber arrangements, contemporary pulse and singer-songwriter chanson.
