Scred Connexion
Formed in Paris’ 18th arrondissement in the late 1990s, Scred Connexion brought together Fabe, Haroun, Koma, Mokless and Morad around an independent French rap focused on everyday life, social observation and a blunt, direct writing style. Linked to Scred Productions, the collective adopts a restrained boom-bap aesthetic with classic productions, distinct flows and a constant emphasis on the substance of the lyrics. The group first drew attention through appearances on maxi singles and compilations before releasing Du mal à s’confier in 2000, an album that clearly established their identity—urban narratives, social tensions and the complementarity of voices. Scred Connexion’s trajectory continued through several members’ solo paths without severing ties to their shared roots in the 18th arrondissement or their practice of rap outside mainstream circuits. In the Paris rap landscape, Scred Connexion remains associated with a scene committed to autonomy, collective coherence and a direct treatment of reality.
