Face To Face

Born in Victorville, California, Face to Face has been part of the melodic punk rock scene of Southern California since 1991, mixing fast skate punk, taut choruses and writing that is more introspective than strictly hardcore. Formed around Trever Keith, initially as a trio and then regularly expanded over time, Face to Face emerged on the early-1990s California punk scene with Don't Turn Away in 1992, before gaining broader visibility thanks to Big Choice in 1995 and the track Disconnected. The band then began touring in punk and alternative circuits, alongside outfits tied to the West Coast scene, and later refined its approach on Face to Face in 1996, Ignorance Is Bliss in 1999, Reactionary in 2000 and How to Ruin Everything in 2002. After an official split in 2004, Face to Face resumed activity in 2008 and continued its discography with Laugh Now, Laugh Later in 2011, Three Chords and a Half Truth in 2013, Protection in 2016, Hold Fast: Acoustic Sessions in 2018 and No Way Out but Through in 2021. Through lineup changes, notably with Scott Shiflett, Chad Yaro, Pete Parada, Danny Thompson and Dennis Hill, Face to Face has maintained a clear identity, based on straightforward songs, honest tempos and a constant balance between punk energy, pop-punk melody and rock tension.
