Nathan Carter

Nathan Carter was born in Liverpool in 1990 to a family from Newry, Northern Ireland. He grew up between Irish culture and Anglo‑Saxon country music before settling in Ireland at 18. A singer as well as an accordionist, guitarist and pianist, Carter developed a repertoire that sits between country, Irish folk and the 'country and Irish' tradition, featuring accessible arrangements, ballads, covers of standards and songs rooted in popular tradition. After Starting Out (2007) he released The Way You Love Me (2010) and Time of My Life (2011), and broadened his audience with his version of 'Wagon Wheel' on the album Wagon Wheel (2012). His career has continued with regular releases, including Where I Wanna Be (2013), Beautiful Life (2015), Stayin' Up All Night (2016), Livin' the Dream (2017), Irish Heartland (2019), Little Old Town (2021), The Morning After (2022), Music Man (2023) and Crazy Christmas (2024). Carter has also made numerous live recordings and television appearances on TG4, RTÉ, the BBC and PBS, with a stage format focused on singing, country covers and Celtic elements.
